Reserves and sportsgrounds for hire

Monash has 54 sportsgrounds in our reserves, many available for casual hire.

Our variety of sportsgrounds can cater for:

• summer: cricket, athletics and touch football
• winter: soccer, aussie rules, rugby league and rugby union

• year-round: softball and baseball facilities.

Casual bookings can include one-off social games, community events or school sports days.

Please note, applicants must have public liability insurance cover of at least $20 million.

Before you apply

• Conditions: Read our sportsground and pavilions conditions of use.
• Permits: If your event occurs in an outdoor public space anywhere in Monash, check if you need to apply for an event permit. Unsure? Contact Council's Events Officer events@monash.vic.gov.au or call 03 9518 3636.
• Equipment: Council does not provide equipment like portable goals, netting or base plates. Please make sure to organise your own.
• Toilets: Not all sportsgrounds have public toilets. Check each reserve's information on our booking platform. 

Sporting events that are part of a regular fixture and run by clubs during the season usually do not require a permit.

Important to know

Bookings do not include exclusive use of the reserve's playgrounds or barbecues. These are free and open for everyone to enjoy.

No marquees or jumping castles are permitted.

Some reserves have long-term tenant clubs with training and matches. Availability may be limited, especially evenings and weekends.
