What's happening

From 1 July 2026, the standard Council commercial waste service includes:

  • 1 × 240 litre landfill bin (red lid), collected fortnightly
  • 1 × 240 litre recycling bin (yellow lid), collected fortnightly.

Bins are no longer collected weekly or twice weekly.

If you did not contact us before 1 July, your bins have changed to this service, and you will see a separate waste charge ($421) on your 2026–27 rates notice.

If you have not yet received your recycling bin, one will be delivered to your business address, along with a new red lid for your landfill bin(s). Please register your details for updates.

What you need to do

Step 1.Register your details

Please register your details.

If we have your contact details, we'll send you an SMS with the date your recycling bin will be delivered, along with a new red lid for your landfill bin(s).

Step 2.Bring in your new recycling bin (yellow lid)

Check the sticker on the bin to make sure it matches your address.

Bring it onto your property and start separating recycling from landfill.

Step 3.Leave out your landfill bin (up to 48 hours)

On the date listed in your SMS, leave out your landfill bin for up to 48 hours.

Bring it in after the lid has been replaced with a red lid.

Step 4.Removal of additional bins (if applicable)

If your property has more bins than Council's service allows, extra bins will be removed.

Step 5.Put your bins out on alternating weeks

For example:

  • Week 1: landfill bin collected
  • Week 2: recycling bin collected
  • Week 3: landfill bin collected
  • Week 4: recycling bin collected

Businesses can register their interest in Trim Your Bin and a member of our team will be in touch to discuss next steps. As this is a pilot, there are a limited number of spaces available.
