Depending on how much rubbish you have, you may need to move to a private waste collection service.
Choosing a private service provider
If you decide to move to a private service provider, consider:
- Reliable and frequent collection schedules
- Transparent pricing and clear contracts
- Whether your business has space to store bins to ensure they are not tampered with, do not obstruct access, and do not create issues for neighbouring properties
- Recycling options
- Flexibility to meet your waste volumes
- Support with waste reduction or sustainability initiatives
You may also find it helpful to compare quotes or speak with nearby businesses about their provider or follow our advice about reducing waste in your business or workplace.
Once you have confirmed a private provider, let Council know so we can confirm you decision, take you off our collection, and arrange to pick up your bins as close as possible to your new service starting.
We will then send an updated 2026–27 rates notice to the ratepayer of the property, so you are no longer charged for Council's commercial waste services.
