Friends of local bushlands and reserves

Monash’s groups help to care for our local bushlands and reserves through weeding, planting and assisting in other maintenance and education activities.

You can join one of these groups by visiting the Friends groups’ website, or turning up to one of the regular planting or weeding days, or other events.

Garden Guides

Garden Guides are fellow community volunteers who have a love for gardens and increasing habitat for local native wildlife.

They volunteer their time to visit community member’s homes to help plan and develop native gardens.

No experience is needed to become a Garden Guide and council is always on the look out for more volunteers to join the program.

Corner Store Network

The Corner Store Network is a local social enterprise coffee roastery and food preserver supporting people and the planet.

The Corner Store recruit volunteers to help with their preserving program, preventing local food waste and making delicious jams, cordials and preservatives.

Greenlink Nurseries

Greenlink Box Hill and Sandbelt Nurseries are not-for-profit community nurseries, specialising in the rich variety of plants that flourished in South-East Melbourne and the Sandbelt before European arrival.

Love Our Streets

Love Our Street groups are made up of community members who come together to volunteer their time to collect litter from surrounding streets.

Their goal is to reduce litter in our streets so that litter is not collected in our local waterways, beaches and oceans.

Clean Up Australia

Clean Up Australia supports communities to improve and conserve our environment, by helping to pick up litter, reducing pollution reaching our waterways and keeping our urban environments attractive.
