Kindergartens

All first-round kindergarten offers for 2027 have now been issued. Please check for an email or SMS and follow the instructions. Families have 7 days to respond from the day the offer was sent. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Second-round offers will be sent from 18 August.
Third-round offers will be sent from 26 August.

Kindergarten is an early childhood education program delivered by qualified early childhood teachers in sessional kindergartens, childcare centres and some independent schools.

Kindergarten programs are designed to engage and encourage a love of learning. They provide children with a broad range of play-based experiences that are responsive to their interests, ideas, strengths and abilities. For more information, please visit:

Kindergarten Enrolments

Families can enrol and view their application details from home at any time. You can also update your details and change your kindergarten preference at any time.

Kindergarten Allocations and Offers

When allocating places, we give preference to children who meet the Victorian Government's Priority of Access requirements, and then to children of Monash residents and ratepayers.

Deferring or Delaying Kindergarten

Children who are deferred must be withdrawn from the program before the Government Data Collection counts the child as attending for the year, which is at the end of the first term

Preschool Field Officer Service

This service offers free, short-term guidance to teachers in Victorian government-funded kindergarten programs in Monash. The PSFO service supports teachers in meeting the needs of individual children at kindergarten.
