Monash Recycling & Waste Centre accepted items and fees
On this page
Monash residents* and ratepayers can recycle many items for free and access a different rate for other accepted materials. Show your driver licence (physical or digital via the official VicRoads app) at our window for proof of address. If you don't have your licence, or you're a ratepayer who isn't a resident, you can show a rates notice or utilities bill.
EFTPOS is available. Please remove any tarps so the window operator can view the load.
Please note, general waste prices incorporate a 27.89% increase in the Victorian Government landfill levy for 2025/26.
*Monash residents with a valid pension, seniors, veterans affairs or health care card can present the card at the window for the concession rate. This rate is not available to commercial customers or non-residents.
For recycling and disposal of items not listed here, please use our online A-Z guide to recycling

Paid disposal by vehicle - green waste and general rubbish
To ensure consistent pricing for our customers, charges for green waste and general waste are based on vehicle type, vehicle size and amount on board (amount changed at 25% increments. Overfilled vehicles calculated at 125% and up).
Calculate green waste and general rubbish fee
If you can't see your vehicle type/size, ask our staff at the window for other fixed price options and sizes. Or refer to the volume charges below.
Please note, general waste prices incorporate a 27.89% increase in the Victorian Government landfill levy for 2025/26.
Paid disposal by volume
Volume = length x width x height
For example: 6' x 4' trailer = 1.8 x 1.2 x 0.45 = 1m3 which equals 1m3 charged for disposal.
