This event is open to people who:

  • are from a multicultural background
  • live or work in Monash
  • have a good command of English
  • are actively looking for work but having challenges finding meaningful or ongoing employment.

Day 1 

Navigating the Australian job market: How the Australian recruitment process works, from job searching and applications through to interviews and follow-up.

Managing setbacks during the job search process, including rejection, frustration and self-doubt.

Resume writing: What employers commonly look for in resumes, applications and interviews

Day 2

Resume writing continued: Practical ways to tailor applications to roles, selection criteria and employer expectations.

Networking and me: Building professional networks and making meaningful employment connections.

Using AI to assist: Using AI tools appropriately and effectively as part of the job search process.

Practice interviews: Interview preparation, including common questions, workplace scenarios and professional communication.

Employment Expo: Trusted local employment support and government resources.

About the facilitators

The session will be facilitated by Timothy Roberts, Managing Director of JUNO Institute. He brings extensive experience in personal and professional development, with a practical, grounded approach to employment success.

Getting there

Free parking is available for registered attendees in the public car park behind Building 5.

Drive in via Gate 3 on Batesford Road, opposite the 7-Eleven service station.

From the car park, follow the signs and walk towards Building 1A for the Conference Centre.

Public transport

Holmesglen campus is a short walk from Holmesglen Station (Glen Waverley Line) and several bus stops. Follow the signs to Building 1A.
