Community BBQ trailer hire
Planning a community event? You can hire a Community BBQ trailer from Council at no cost to help bring people together.
Who can apply
Community and not-for-profit groups can hire the BBQ trailer for events held within the City of Monash.
What’s included
The trailer includes:
- Two-burner hot plate BBQ
- BBQ tools
- Drinks tub with water drain
- Full gas bottle (refill covered by Council)
Cost
There is no charge to hire the BBQ trailer.
Requirements
Towing the trailer
- The driver must hold a current licence - no Red Plated Probationary Licence allowed
- Must be confident towing and securing a trailer with a 50mm towball and 7 pin round electrical connection
- Must have motor vehicle that is registered with insurance that covers towing
- The vehicle must be registered and roadworthy
Pick-up and return
Pick up and return at Monash Operations Centre: 390 Ferntree Gully Road, Notting Hill.
Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 3:45pm.
Returning the trailer
- Must be returned clean and in working order
- Costs may apply if returned damaged or unclean
Your responsibilities
When you hire the BBQ trailer, you must:
- Use it only for the approved event and within Monash
- Report any faults or damage
- Return it at the agreed time
The nominated driver must:
- Be the person listed on the form
- Hold a full licence
- Be insured and competent in towing
