Land Information Certificates

If you are selling a property, you will need a Land Information Certificate. The certificate can also be used for refinancing purposes.

The certificate provides information on matters affecting the property made under the Local Government Act(s), or under a local law of the Council.

The Land Information Certificate covers information such as:

• Valuations of the property
• The amount of current rates charges and any arrears or interest applicable to the property
• Any other liabilities or potential liabilities
• Any notices or orders issued on the property

The certificate is required so the correct settlement can be made.

Certificates are only valid on the day of issue and should be updated prior to any settlement of property.
