Response
Can you confirm when Carlson Reserve was reallocated, to what club and why?
When was Carlson Reserve upgraded and what were the upgrades?
Upgrade works at Carlson Reserve were completed last year and included a new pavilion with four change rooms and additional features for community sporting clubs. An internal EOI process was conducted with local sporting clubs looking to use the new facility and reserve. Monash Villareal was offered use of the facility.
What club is Capital Reserve Pavillion used by and since when? Is this reserve also recently upgraded?
What is the extent of the fire damage at Capital Reserve overnight?
Capital Reserve in Glen Waverley is used by Glen Waverley Hawks Cricket Club in the summer sporting season, and Glen Waverley Soccer Club in the winter sporting season. There have been no recent upgrades of note to the pavilion, which is approximately ten years old. We are working with Victoria Police and Melbourne Fire Brigade, but at this point the damage looks to be substantial.
When last year was Carlson Reserve's upgrade completed?
The Carson Reserve pavilion upgrade was completed in September.
When in November was Monash Villarreal offered the use of Carlson Reserve?
6 September
When did Monash Villarreal withdraw from Carlson Reserve?
29 November
I understand that no teams are currently using Carlson Reserve. Are there any offers out at the moment?
After the fire earlier this week we are in the process of moving Glen Waverley Soccer Club to Carlson Reserve so they can complete their season. Carlson Reserve was scheduled to host an upcoming winter cricket season, which has been moved to Capital Reserve in Glen Waverley due to the reduced need for changing rooms and facilities for this smaller competition.
Can you confirm if council officers have received threats or intimidation regarding sporting ground allocation in the past 10 months or so?
Have any cases of threats or intimidation been referred to police?
Is the council bolstering security in response to recent threats and fire incidents? If so, in what way?
We refer you to Victoria Police matters regarding the investigation.
