Join us at Kelly Street, Chadstone (located between Atkinson Street and Drummond Street), to help our Parks and Gardens and Sustainability teams to plant around 2300 native shrubs, grasses and flowers.

Get involved in greening up our local environment and help play an active role in in creating beautiful urban green spaces to enjoy.

Event requirements

• No gardening experience is necessary.
• Please wear weather appropriate clothes, close-toe shoes, water or snacks if required.
• Children under 18 years are welcome to participate and must be accompanied and supervised by an adult guardian.
• If you have gardening tools and gloves, please bring them along.
• Council will provide additional tools and gloves to those who need.

• Minimise noise pollution with vegetation absorbing and redirecting sound waves from traffic.
• Increase tree canopy cover across our community to provide shade and cooling.
• Improve the quality of our local environment by cleaning air, reducing rainwater run-off and minimising areas for littering and rubbish dumping.
• Improve biodiversity and help local wildlife that rely on native plants for habitat, food and shelter.
