Outstanding Advocate of People with Disabilities
Criteria
This award recognises the achievement of an individual, organisation, group or business that has contributed to improving the lives of people with a disability.
The judging panel will consider:
- How the achievement has assisted people with disabilities to actively participate in their community
- How the achievement has contributed to improving the accessibility of the built environment
- The significance and/or impact on the development of the disability sector
- Is the initiative new or existing? Is it inclusive of people with a range of disabilities?
- If the achievement included people with a disability in the development and decision-making associated with the initiative and if it involved partnerships with other organisations or individuals
- If the achievement has been ongoing
- If it contributed to the employment of people with a disability
- Nominees can be recognised for paid or voluntary work and may or may not have a disability.
