Dr. Raj Ramanathapillai

Raj is a Sri Lankan Tamil and has been living in Wheelers Hill for the past 5 years.

He was involved in human rights work in Sri Lanka before leaving during the war as a graduate student.

Raj went on to become a Professor of Peace and Justice Studies and Human Rights at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania, USA for 10 years.

Raj is a member of Monash Council’s Multicultural Advisory Committee and says increasing awareness of the values and contributions of cultural communities in Monash is just one way we can promote inclusivity and our diverse multicultural community.
