Thomas Maguire-Nguyen

Thomas is a Vietnamese Australian and has studied and lived in Monash since 2014.

His Vietnamese grandparents moved to Australia after the conclusion of the Vietnam War where his grandfather commenced a scholarship to study education at Monash University.

Thomas said we can all embrace inclusivity and cultural diversity if we understand ‘we’re all cut from the same cloth’. He said ‘we may be different colours of the same cloth, but we are all the same, nonetheless.’

Thomas said when we realise that all cultures bring colour and vibrance, then we can understand the true meaning of diversity and create a beautiful technicolour pattern of cloth.
