Active Abilities Small Group Training
A friendly class specifically designed for those with a disability to help individuals move and exercise in a safe and fun environment. Our circuit classes held in our low-sensory studio at Oakleigh Recreation Centre are to be enjoyed by people living with a disability aged 16+.
These classes offer numerous benefits with a focus on cardio, strength and balance training.

Dementia Friendly Group Class
A friendly class specifically designed for those with early-stage dementia to help individuals move and exercise in a safe and fun environment.
Led by experienced and qualified group exercise instructors, this class is engaging and fun. The class will work on improving functional strength, flexibility, and cognitive stimulation.
Exercising helps to prevent falls and maintains healthy mind, body and spirit. Other positive effects include improved mood, sleep, and quality of life.

A children’s fitness class that focuses on developing fundamental motor skills in a fun-filled environment!
This class will get all children making friends and moving, and includes ball skills, running, jumping, body-weight exercises and more.

We believe everyone should have the opportunity to exercise and move!
This class welcomes children with cognitive disabilities and gives everyone a safe space to enjoy movement.

Teen Fit Lab
This 30min class is specifically for teens designed with cardio and bodyweight exercises, increasing fitness, strength and endurance.
Create healthy habits that set up a lifelong love of exercise and movement.
Our qualified trainers will deliver a safe and fun program that is also a great introduction to the gym.

Swim Strong
Swim Strong is designed for people aged 18 years and over who can swim at least 50m and two different strokes.

Casual Shooting
Shoot some casual basketball hoops at Oakleigh Recreation Centre.
Courts are available outside of bookings for casual use.
Please note: there is no guarantee that access will include a full court and is dependent on usage at that time and Futsal and Badminton are not available.

Sports Locker
Open the locker and get active!
Borrow sports equipment for FREE from Glen Waverley library to use at nearby sports facilities.
Equipment available to borrow: Table tennis (bats and balls)
Borrowing time: 4-hour limit
How to borrow: Simply leave a form of ID with the library branch, that you can collect when the equipment is returned and sanitised with wipes (provided). You'll also need to sign an agreement. Being a library member isn’t essential.
The Sports Locker program is available during Glen Waverley Library branch operating hours.
This program provides an opportunity for local families to ‘Participate Their Way’ by removing the cost of club membership, registration fees, uniforms and equipment, and utilising the libraries' systems to hire out sports equipment within the Glen Waverley local area.
