Workshops and experiences

Look out for Big Ted and the wildly popular Monash Teddy Bear Hospital which will be on site to help check-up and treat our local Monash teddy bears.  The family-favourite will be admitting Monash teddies for assessment within its radiology (X-ray) and surgery service. Stations are set up as real life hospital or GP scenarios providing kids the opportunity to have a positive and educational experience

Get the kids involved in a fun and engaging workshop with Waverley Woodworkers and local business CreativeSparx who will host a windchime making experience.

If you dare, get up close and personal with some fascinating animals with the Wildlife Wranglers and experience a try-before-you-register with our local sporting clubs, including Aurora Calisthenics College, Fordham Dance School, Fioretto Fencing Club, Waverley Softball Association and Waverley Baseball Club.

To align with Children's Week there will also be an interactive Chalk Art Workshop and chalk artist located on the basketball court near the playground thanks to the support of our Children’s Services team.

Food stalls

Don’t forget to satisfy your taste buds with an array of delicious food options from Ashwood-Mt Waverley Lions Club community BBQ, MDA Twisted Potatoes, Peppe’s Food Truck, Viet Fusion, Eastern Devils FC Breaky BBQ and Natural fruit sorbet, Bean Brewed and Pocket Café for all your coffee needs, along with Sundaez and Chill who will be serving delicious ice cream and more!

Green My Plate is a sustainable service aimed at eliminating single-use food packaging from events. They supply cups, plates and bowls to food vendors and then wash and recirculate.

The closed loop system is of benefit to events as single-use plates and bowls are removed from the site leaving a cleaner footprint and less waste to clean, as well as diverting waste from landfill.

Community and Council stalls

We have a host of community and Council stalls available on the day with the opportunity to talk to some of our local emergency service heroes.

Check out Council’s stalls with arts, craft and activities from our Community Strengthening, Youth Services, Monash Public Library Service, MAPh, Active Monash, Community Laws and Sustainable Monash teams! Don’t forget to talk to our teams about the wonderful initiatives happening right across the city.

We will also host a range of community organisation stalls including Paisley Park Early Learning Centres, Bunnings Chadstone and Suburban Rail Loop.
