Susannah Day

Art and Storytime Talk presented by The Torch Project

Monday 7 July 2025
10am - 11.30am
Civic Gallery, Monash Civic Centre
Glen Waverley 3150

A special NAIDOC Week opening event, where we will join in celebrating the unyielding spirit of our communities, and invite all to stand in solidarity, amplifying the voices that have long been silenced.

Participate in a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony and hear from Martu/Darlot woman and The Torch Project CEO, Susannah Day, discuss Art and Storytime and their role in helping incarcerated First Nations peoples to reconnect with culture and pursue educational and creative industry opportunities.

Susannah was appointed as the inaugural general manager in 2022 and is deeply committed to providing artists with the resources and platforms necessary to tell their stories and practice art and culture.

NAIDOC Week celebrates the history, culture, and achievements of First Nations peoples and is celebrated not only in Indigenous communities but by all Australians.
