Be aware - phishing/scam calls

Published on 15 February 2022

Scam alert

We've received reports from residents about scam/phishing calls impersonating Council and collecting population statistics and personal information.

Never respond to unsolicited messages and calls that ask for personal or financial details – delete the message or hang up.

We encourage you to ask some simple questions when someone calls claiming to be from Council or working on our behalf. If they haven’t provided any details, ask for their full name, company name and postal address.
