Rainbow Shoelace Project

The Rainbow Shoelace Project is a way for people to demonstrate their support for the LGBTIQA+ community by wearing beads in the Pride flag colours on their shoelaces.

For Wear it Purple Day 2025 (29 August), Monash libraries will be giving out free shoelace beads (while stocks last).

Rainbow community members, as well as friends and allies, can collect FREE shoelace beads at Glen Waverley Library and Mount Waverley Library on Thursday 28 August from 3pm, and wear them with pride on Friday 29 August for Wear it Purple Day!

Any remaining beads will be given out on the Friday.
