Register to attend
We’re hosting a new mega swap event for kids, teens and adults.
This is a FREE ticketed event where attendees can exchange their good quality pre-loved clothing items for the same amount of pre-loved items, while also enjoying some fun textile and sustainability activities.
Reusing clothing means we are keeping these items in circularity, out of landfill. Let’s do our part and help create a more sustainable Monash!
What will happen on the day?
Kids Exchange
There is no designated drop off time. The exchange will start from 10am.
Up to 8 items which no longer bring you joy can be exchanged for up to another 8 items.
You will receive a token for each item. Please ensure your items are washed and checked for any flaws (we don't accept items that are stained, damaged, pilled or smelly) – don’t forget BYO bag!
Kids and Baby items can also be donated from 12pm - 5pm on Friday 8 August at Monash Civic Centre.
Teens and Adults Exchange
Drop off will start from 10am. Clothes swap will start from 11am.
Up to 8 items which no longer bring you joy can be exchanged for up to another 8 items. You will only be able to complete one round of swapping to ensure we can deliver the fairest event possible.
You will receive a token for each item. Please ensure your items are washed and checked for any flaws (we don't accept items that are stained, damaged, pilled or smelly) – don’t forget BYO bag!

Get involved: Sustainability Stalls
Sounds of the Creek – A Restful Pause
Location: Level 1, Monash Civic Centre, 10am.
Visitors will find a seating area tucked into a quiet corner where they can rest and listen to a curated loop of natural creek sounds—flowing water, birds, and rustling leaves—recorded directly from Damper Creek
This immersive soundscape is designed to provide a sensory contrast to the busy environment, spark imagination and appreciation for local natural spaces and offer a peaceful interlude during the one-hour waiting period between clothing drop-off and exchange.
The installation offers a moment of calm and reflection amidst the bustling activity of the exchange and aims to highlight the ecological importance of Damper Creek, promote the efforts of our Friends’ group and deliver an interaction with nature plants to feel, audio sounds to listen to and nature in focus photographs to look at.
What goes in what bin?
Location: Level 1, Council Chambers, Monash Civic Centre, 10am - 12pm.
Get along and enjoy this family-friendly stall!
This interactive education stall will provide a host of information and games designed to educate visitors on ‘what is waste?’, ‘what is recyclable?’ and ‘what can go in each kerbside collection bin?’.
Located outside the children’s swap, this fun stall also provides child-friendly activities and books for general waste education.
Event Day Reminders
The donation time and swap times will not be changed or increased.
Please be onsite during the allocated donation timeframe and be ready to return for the exchange.
8 items can be exchanged for tokens to allow participation in the exchange.
2-hour and 4-hour FREE parking is now available at the newly opened Bogong Car Park. Check which level restrictions apply before you park.
2-hour parking is available on surrounding streets: Marriott Parade, Southdown Avenue, and parts of Kingsway.
Left over clothing from each exchange will be donated to our event partners who will ensure the items are kept in circularity and packaged up to support some of our community’s most vulnerable.
With over 300,000 tonnes of clothing going to landfill or exported each year, participating in a clothing exchange supports the principles of a circular economy to eliminate waste and pollution and circulate products and materials at their highest value.
