Project budget: $14.73million, including an $8.2million commitment from Council, $4million from the Victorian Government, $2million from the Australian Government and $530,000 from the Oakleigh Cannons Football Club.
Construction of the Jack Edwards Reserve pavilion and grandstand continues to progress, with the grandstand seating completed and an internal fit out underway.
New 500 lux sports lighting has been installed and is now operating.
When finished, the game changing facility - at the home of the Oakleigh Cannons Football Club - will have a 500-seat undercover grandstand and National Premier League standard facilities that will help the club grow its programs, including those for women’s and girls' teams.
Opening whistle sounds for pavilion and grandstand
On Sunday 5 October, the stand was packed to the rafters as we officially opened the new state of the art pavilion and grandstand at Jack Edwards Reserve in Oakleigh.
City of Monash Mayor, Cr Paul Klisaris, officially opened the facility, joined by Federal Member for Hotham, Clare O’Neil; State Member for Oakleigh, Steve Dimopoulos; and Kon Kavalakis, chairman of the Oakleigh Cannons Football Club.
