Going Circular Training Program: Expressions of Interest

Learn how your business can reduce waste and cost, foster innovation and increase your profile by building your understanding of the circular economy and how it can benefit your business.

Monash Council have joined Glen Eira Council and Circulise to deliver this exciting FREE program for up to 3 small to medium businesses in Monash. 

EOI are open until Monday 29 September 2025.

Business owners who participated in the program previously in neighbouring Councils have gained extensive knowledge on how to maximise the potential of the circular economy and transform their business practices.

The term ‘circular economy’ refers to the system of re-using, re-purposing and recycling resources. In a perfect circular economy, the materials we use in products would all be recovered, reprocessed and reused in a continuous loop, rather than becoming waste in landfill.

This upskilling training program will support business owners to uncover circular economy benefits and embed them into the practices to drive financial, environmental and social outcomes for their business and customers. 

Program details

With expert guidance, participants will identify opportunities to help improve their business performance and develop their own circular initiative action plans, resulting in: 

• Reduced costs
• A growing customer base
• New revenue streams
• Enhance supply chain resilience
• Minimised waste

Program key dates

• The program runs from Monday 6 October to Friday 14 November 2025.
• The program is delivered on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7 October to 12 November, 6.30pm - 7.30pm.
• A closing networking event will be held in person on Friday 14 November 2024.

Program eligibility and EOI

The training program is limited to small to medium size businesses. Business owners in the City of Monash are invited to apply.

Applicants must be able to attend the workshops and complete the course work during the program.

Interested businesses are invited to submit an expression of interest by Monday 29 September 2025.

Applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application via email.

A $200 deposit is required to enrol in the training program.

• This deposit will be refunded upon successful completion of the program.
• If the business fails to complete the program for any reason, the deposit will be forfeited to Council and will not be refunded.
• If Council decides not to proceed with the program, applicants who have paid a deposit will be refunded their deposit.
