From Monday 21 July to Friday 25 July JWS Research will be conducting a phone survey on behalf of Council to seek feedback on a proposal to introduce a waste charge.
The Victorian Government has made changes to the Fire Services Property Levy, resulting in a significant increase to the amount you pay on your rates notice.
This re-named and increased Emergency Services and Volunteer Fund (ESFV) will provide funding for emergency services in Victoria such as Fire Rescue Victoria, the SES and other organisations.
The increased Emergency Services and Volunteer Fund is collected by Monash Council (and other Victorian councils) through your rate notices and passed on to the Victorian Government.
Council has no role to play in the setting of this levy and does not receive any revenue from money that is collected.
People who received a Pensioner Rebate on their rates receive a $50 concession on their Emergency Services Volunteer Fund.
Rebates and exemptions are also available via the State Revenue Office.
