Monash University Performing Arts Centres presents Arcadia Winds with Paavali Jumppanen in the first concert of the Sundays in the Sound Gallery series for 2025.

Arcadia Winds are trailblazers for Australian wind music. Formed in 2013 at the Australian National Academy of Music, Arcadia Winds are known for their energetic and joyful performances. The ensemble has performed in concerts and at festivals across Australia and abroad, and have been heavily involved in educating and inspiring the next generation of young wind musicians. Arcadia Winds has championed new Australian music since its inception, through commissioning, performance, recording and their annual composition prize for young composers.

In the span of recent seasons, the imaginative and versatile Finnish virtuoso Paavali Jumppanen has established himself as a dynamic musician of seemingly unlimited capability who has already cut a wide swath internationally as an orchestral and recital soloist, recording artist, artistic director, and frequent performer of contemporary and avant-garde music.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see these artists join together to perform a delightful selection of chamber music.
