A Heartfelt, Cheeky Tribute to a Legend.

“Nadira sings with the kind of pure joy that is totally contagious. Anyone who has been to her shows knows that this petite yet commanding performer has a punk-ish attitude and on-stage banter that could be a comedy act on its own” — AustralianJazz.net

Come along and join Nadira and Friends for an “Unforgettable” evening as they lovingly and playfully reimagine the golden velvet tones of the great Nat King Cole. From the tender sigh of “When I Fall in Love” to the breezy bounce of “L-O-V-E” and the swingin’ sass of “Straighten Up and Fly Right,” this is no ordinary tribute—it’s a warm, witty celebration full of heart and just a hint of mischief.

Nadira is a Hobart-based jazz vocalist and the ensemble leader of Nadira and Friends. She is gaining a reputation as a standout voice in contemporary straight-ahead jazz in Australia. Over the past decade, she has performed at jazz clubs and festivals across Australia, Indonesia, the US, and Europe.

For her debut performance at the Count’s, expect refreshingly joyful renditions of both Cole’s iconic hits and a few hidden gems that might surprise even long-time fans. Nadira’s gutsy vocals glide effortlessly over lush arrangements, while her talented ensemble brings “Stardust” sparkle to every note. And just when you think it can’t get any dreamier—it’s “Almost Like Being in Love.”

So slip into something smooth, bring someone you adore (or at least like a lot), and don’t forget to wear your biggest “Smile.” Because tonight, we swing. We swoon. And above all—we celebrate the music of the King, Nat Cole.

“She’s no Sarah Vaughan or Carmen McRae… yet! But give her time!”
— Ted Vining, Australian Jazz Hall of Fame, 2017

“Nadira immediately gains your attention… make no mistake, Nadira is the real jazz deal!”
— Liz Carnovale, Artistic and Programming Director, Paris Cat Jazz Club, Melbourne
