Have your say on our Road Management Plan
Published on 06 October 2025
Monash has more than 750kms of local roads and 1,500kms of footpaths and our Road Management Plan sets out how often we inspect and maintain them, as well as how quickly we repair them when there is an issue.
For example: we inspect the condition of our busiest roads once a year, and our busiest footpaths once every three months.
Community satisfaction with our local roads, as measured by our annual community satisfaction survey, has been consistently good. In 2023/24 we received 320 requests for road repairs, meeting our targets 99% of the time - despite wetter than usual conditions which can cause more potholes during that period.
Last updated in 2021, we’ve amended our Road Management Plan to respond to changes in Victorian Government timeframes for necessary approvals and to make it easier for our community to understand.
We are now inviting community feedback on our proposed new Road Management Plan to make sure it meets your expectations.
Visit Shape Monash before 29 October to read about our proposed changes and provide feedback.
