Clayton Festival celebrates the diverse community and cultures right here in Monash, and we welcome everyone to join us for an exciting day in Clayton.

What’s happening?

Monash village – meet the team!

Meet the friendly faces behind Council! Explore stalls from Horticulture, Community Safety, Connected Communities, Creative Industries, Sustainable Monash and Monash Public Library Service — chat, learn and discover what we do.

Activities and workshops

Get the family involved in a range of FREE fun activities and workshops: 

  • Kids activities, playground access and quiet sensory space. 

  • Reptile encounters — meet our scaly visitors. 

  • Face painting – get in early! 

  • Youth Hub — photobooth, inflatable activities and youth support services. 

  • Creative arts activities — something for all ages. 

  • Teas of the World — sip and celebrate our multicultural community. 

Entertainment and performances

  • Main Stage — enjoy performances from around the world.  

  • Rosie the Caravan — laid‑back live acoustic sets. 

  • Roving performers and pop‑up buskers — something around every corner. 

Clayton Community Centre

Wander through the center and enjoy a range of family-friendly things to see and do:

  • Clayton Library — explore fun activities and their annual Book Sale 

  • Senior’s Café — relax with a cuppa 

  • Clayton Theatre — catch a short film and enjoy free popcorn served up thanks to our Gold Sponsor Suburban Rail Loop 

  • Free swimming at Clayton Aquatics Centre from 1pm–5pm 

Food trucks

Treat your tastebuds with a line‑up of food and dessert trucks serving festival favourites—something for everyone.


 

Important event information

What should I bring?

Sunscreen, hat, and water bottle which can be refilled at on site water fountains.  

Don’t forget your swimmers to ‘cool down’ with FREE pool entry between 1pm - 5pm at Clayton Aquatic and Health Club.   

 

 

 

Getting to the event

Public transport is recommended with Clayton Train Station located around 300m (or less than 5 minutes' walk) from Cooke Street, Clayton. 

There are also several busses which travel to the Clayton SC/Clayton Road bus stop including: 631, 703, 704, 733, 824. Go to www.ptv.vic.gov.au to plan your journey. 

There is limited street parking available between Cooke Street and Clayton Road during the festival. 

If driving, please observe traffic management controls and standard parking restrictions 

 

Event accessibility

The event site is designed to be inclusive and accommodating for all individuals and all abilities.  

The following accessible features and services are available at the event: 

  • Smooth and accessible pathways for entry and navigation within the event site 

  • Designated accessible parking spaces

  • Drinking taps that are conveniently placed and meet accessibility standards

  • Several accessible toilets, as well as a permanent changing places space onsite

  • Changing facilities available onsite either outside or inside Council buildings

  • Noise-cancelling headphones available to hire for free with exchange of ID details

  • Wayfinding signage throughout the event

  • Variety of limited seating options

All temporary structures will adhere to Monash Council's accessibility requirements.
