Emergency Preparedness for Elderly and/or Culturally Diverse Communities

Everyone deserves to feel safe and supported in an emergency. This informative session is specially designed for elderly individuals and Culturally and Racially Marginalised (CARM) communities, helping participants feel more confident in recognising and responding to emergency situations.

During this 30-minute presentation, you’ll learn:

When and how to call an ambulance

What to do in an emergency situation

Where to find help and resources for non-urgent health concerns

By increasing awareness and preparedness, this session empowers community members to take appropriate action when it matters most—ensuring no one feels unsure or alone in an emergency.

Act F.A.S.T Saves Lives (30 minutes)

Stroke Awareness and Prevention

A stroke can happen to anyone, anytime—and knowing how to respond quickly can save a life. This engaging 30-minute presentation explains what a stroke is, how it occurs, and how to identify the signs and symptoms using the F.A.S.T. acronym: Face, Arms, Speech, Time.

Participants will learn:

How to recognise the early warning signs of a stroke

What immediate actions to take when a stroke is suspected

The key risk factors for stroke (such as high blood pressure, smoking, and poor diet)

Simple, practical ways to reduce those risks and improve overall health

By the end of the session, participants will feel more informed and empowered to act swiftly in a stroke emergency—potentially saving lives and reducing long-term health impacts.
