Join the Positive Ageing Reference Group (PARG)
Published on 26 February 2026
Join our Positive Ageing Reference Group and help make Monash a friendlier place for older people.
As a group member, you'll gain insight into real Council projects, and share your thoughts, experiences and ideas.
You don't need to be an expert – just curious and passionate about making Monash a place where people can age well, stay connected, and feel valued at every stage of life.
To submit your interest, complete our short sign-up form (Expression of Interest form) by 15 March 2026.
If you need support at any step of this process, phone 03 9518 3555 and we'll try to help.
Who can join?
We're inviting 2 types of members to express interest:
- Community members who care about making Monash a place where people can age well, stay connected, and feel valued at every stage of life.
- Industry members who work in areas such as:
- health or aged care
- community or support services
- planning, design or research
- business or service delivery.
We're especially keen to hear from people from different cultures and backgrounds.
How much time is involved?
The group meets every 2 months.
Community members are part of the group for 2 years. Industry members sit for 1 year.
What does the Positive Ageing Reference Group do?
As a group member, you'll gain insight into real Council projects, programs and policies, and share your thoughts, experiences and ideas.
You'll talk directly with Council officers who are leading these initiatives to help make our projects more inclusive, accessible, and responsive to the needs of older residents.
You don't need special training – just a willingness to listen, share, consider diverse perspectives and think big picture.
