Tuning in to Kids: Emotionally intelligent parenting

Tuning in to Kids helps parents support their child's emotional development.

Across 6 sessions, you'll learn simple, proven tools to help your child respond to big feelings, build stronger relationships and teach problem‑solving skills that last.

This program is for parents and carers of children aged 4–10 living in Monash.

What you'll learn

You'll learn proven strategies to:

improve communication with your child
understand your child better
help your child learn to manage their emotions
help to prevent behaviour problems
teach your child to deal with conflict.

Benefits for your child

Tuning in to Kids shows you how to help your child develop emotional intelligence. Children with higher emotional intelligence:

have greater success with making and keeping friends
have better concentration at school
are more able to calm down when upset
tend to have fewer childhood illnesses.

You must be able to attend all 6 sessions as your skills will build week by week.

To help you get the most out of the program, we cannot accommodate for children at the sessions. This is so you can fully focus on learning and connecting with other parents.
