The Waverley Film Society screens the British comedy drama Brassed Off (1996). The cast include Pete Postlewaite, tara Fitzgerald, & Ewan McGregor.
Brassed Off (1996) is about the troubles faced by a colliery brass band following the closure of its coal pit. The soundtrack for the film was provided by the famous Grimethorpe Colliery Band, and the film is based on that bands’ own struggle against pit closures.
