SEED AI - Free AI training for businesses, educators and employees
Next date: Saturday, 09 May 2026 | 12:00 AM
The SEED-AI Training Program is a free AI skills training initiative funded by Google.org, AVPN, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). Delivered by the Deakin SME Research Centre at Deakin University, the program is designed to help participants build real confidence using AI tools in their work, studies, and everyday tasks.
Unlike many AI courses that focus only on theory, SEED-AI focuses on practical, real-world use of AI. Participants learn how to apply AI tools to solve everyday problems, improve productivity, and make better decisions while understanding how to use AI responsibly.
The program is designed for beginners and professionals alike, and no prior experience with AI is required.
Participants will learn through 5 practical modules
-
Module 1: Introduction to AI – Understand what AI is, how it works, and how it is shaping industries and workplaces.
-
Module 2: Maximise Productivity with AI Tools – Learn how AI tools can help automate tasks, generate ideas, create content, and improve efficiency.
-
Module 3: Discover the Art of Prompt Engineering – Develop the skills to communicate effectively with AI systems and generate better outputs.
-
Module 4: Use AI Responsibly – Understand ethical use of AI, privacy considerations, bias, and responsible decision-making when using AI technologies.
-
Module 5: Stay Ahead of the AI Curve – Explore emerging AI trends and how individuals and organisations can adapt to the future of work.
The learning experience combines flexible self-paced online learning with 10 hours of interactive live sessions. These sessions include hands-on training with AI tools, practical prompt engineering exercises, and scenario-based discussions that help participants apply responsible AI practices in real-world situations.
SEED-AI is open to 3 key groups:
-
Employees of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) who want to use AI to improve business productivity and innovation.
-
College and university students (18+ years) who want to develop work-ready digital skills and stand out to future employers.
-
Education sector professionals, including teachers and educators, who want to integrate AI responsibly into teaching and learning environments.
To maintain a high-quality learning experience, each cohort is limited to 300 participants.
Participants who successfully complete the program will receive a Certificate of Recognition from Deakin University, Google, and the Deakin SME Research Centre, demonstrating their practical AI capability and commitment to responsible AI use.
