Disney's Newsies Jr is a shorter version of the 2012 Broadway musical, based on the 1992 film. Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City, Newsies Jr features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast) and Jack Feldman and a book by Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein.

Set in 1899 New York City, Newsies Jr. tells the inspiring story of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy who dreams of a better life beyond the city streets. When newspaper publisher Joseph Pulitzer raises prices at the expense of the newsies, Jack and his friends — Crutchie, Davey, and Les — decide to fight back.

With the help of Katherine, a brave young reporter, the newsies form a union and strike against the powerful publishers. Their courage spreads across the city, turning a group of street kids into a movement for justice.

As tensions rise, Jack faces tough choices about friendship, loyalty, and doing what’s right. In the end, the newsies’ determination wins the day, proving that when you stand together, you can change the world.

Full of high-energy dance numbers and unforgettable songs, Newsies Jr. is a story of hope, courage, and the power of young voices to make a difference.
