Thursday 9 July, 6 - 8pm Track Gallery, 47 Miller Crescent, Mount Waverley FREE Ticketed event. Booking essential.
Join us for a special NAIDOC Week celebration as we open Marra Marra: Our Countries Song at Track Gallery.
Experience a Welcome to Country, traditional smoking ceremony, and a special Artist Talk by Robert Young, a proud Gunnai, Waradjurie, Gunditjmara, Yorta Yorta and Bunurong man who will share insights into his practice.
Drawn from the Marra Marra Gallery Marketplace, the exhibition celebrates living stories across Boon Wurrung and Yorta Yorta Country.
This event is a part of Council's Connecting to Country and Culture initiative, an 8-week immersive program of events, exhibitions and family‑friendly activities grounded in First Nations cultural learning and truth‑telling that runs from National Reconciliation Week to NAIDOC Week.
This year we celebrate 50 Years of Deadly - a tribute to the people who built this movement. The Elders who stood firm, the organisers who made space, the artists who turned resistance into expression, and the communities who keep showing up, year after year.
NAIDOC has always been more than a week — it’s a platform, a protest, a celebration, and a statement of survival.
The exhibition will be on display at Track Gallery from 25 June - 20 July, 11am – 4pm (Thurs- Sat).
