Former Port Adelaide captain and one of the AFL’s most respected leaders, Travis Boak joins WordFest to discuss his powerful memoir, The Power Within. 

Long admired for his discipline, preparation and longevity at the elite level, in The Power Within Boak turns inward to reflect on grief, emotional resilience and the psychological work required to perform, both on and off the field.

Shaped by the early loss of his father, the book traces a journey towards vulnerability, self‑awareness and inner strength.  

Honest, reflective and deeply human, this in-conversation event explores leadership, mental wellbeing and the courage it takes to confront what we carry within.
