Statement by Monash Mayor Paul Klisaris:
Monash Council welcomes the announcement by the State Government of the Suburban Rail Loop.
This is a huge project and recognises the importance of Monash as a thriving and economically significant community and in particular the significance of the Monash National Employment and Innovation Cluster.
Monash is home to about 197,000 people and the workplace of more than 130,000, the largest workplace outside the CBD.
We are keen to understand more about the details and the timelines of this project but at first look, it is a game-changer for Monash.
