Community Safety and Amenity

Our purpose: We are committed to ensuring our city is compliant, safe and orderly by enforcing local laws and regulatory controls.

We ensure that regulatory controls are complied with to help Monash residents enjoy amenity, maintain a safe environment, and manage issues that may cause a nuisance.

Our roles include:

Providing for the peace, order and good governance of the municipal district.
Promoting a physical and social environment free from hazards to health, in which the residents of the municipal district can enjoy a quality of life that meets the general expectations of the community.
Preventing and suppressing nuisances which may adversely affect the enjoyment of life within the municipal district or the health, safety and well-being of persons within the municipal district.
Regulating and controlling activities of people within the municipal district which may be dangerous, unsafe or detrimental to the quality of life of other people in, the amenity or the environment of the municipal district.
Conducting investigations and undertake enforcement to address and remedy non-compliance with the Community Safety and Amenity Local Law, and other relevant legislation.
