Our new direct debit system
Our new direct debit system provides greater payment flexibility and makes it easier to manage your rates payments online from any device, anywhere at anytime.
What this means if you previously paid by direct debit
Your final payment was on 1 June 2026, and:
- your previous direct debit has been cancelled
- no further payments will be taken under your previous arrangement.
If you’d like to continue paying by direct debit, you’ll need to register on our new system. You’ll get instructions with your 2026/27 rates notice on how to do this or you can set this up now at flexible rates payments.
What this means if you previously paid by 10 instalments
The default 10-instalment direct debit option isn't available on our new system. Instead, you'll have to:
- Select Flexible Payments
- Choose a weekly, fortnightly or monthly payment frequency
- Select a start date that works for you.
This option allows you to spread your rate payments over the year in a way that best suits your budget.
What this means if you're new to direct debit
To set up a new direct debit arrangement simply follow the instructions on your 2026/27 rates notices or set up a new account at flexible rates payments.

Our new direct debit system is provided by Payble an online payment platform used by many Victorian councils. Our new system gives you:
- more flexibility in how and when you pay
- an improved online payment experience
- timely reminders before payments are due
- the ability to check your live balance
- the convenience to manage payments from any device, anywhere and anytime.
