The Waverley Film Society screens a musical comedy/drama movie The Commitments (1991) which is based on a novel from 1987. It stars Robert Arkins and Angeline Bell.
The film tells the story of unemployed Dublin boy Jimmy Rabbitte, a young music fanatic who assembles a group of working-class youths to form a soul band named "The Commitments".
The Commitments is rated M.
The Waverley Film Society meets at 7:40pm on the 2nd Wednesday of the month (except January).
