Monash War Memorials Advisory Committee

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor do the years condemn, at the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

Purpose

Ensuring our War Memorials are maintained throughout Monash is our number one goal.

We do this through reviewing and reporting to Council through our appointed chairperson.

Meetings

The committee meets on an 'as needed' basis.

War Memorial Sites

Monash pays tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice through multiple War Memorial sites:

  • Shire of Mulgrave Honour Roll, Monash Civic Centre
  • The 'Lone Pine', WWI and WWII Commemorative Gates and monument at the entrance to Central Reserve
  • Carinish Road, corner of Kanooka Grove
  • Oakleigh Memorial at the intersection of Atherton Road and Drummond Street
  • Avenues of Honour in Clayton, Oakleigh and Mount Waverley
