Council has developed a draft Climate Resilience Plan for 2026-2030.

The plan outlines how we will work with our community to respond to the impacts of a changing climate, future-proof our places and spaces, and continue to reduce emissions

Our goal is to ensure that Monash is better prepared to adapt and thrive in a changing climate.

 Key priority areas include:

Governance and partnerships

Working together to ensure a coordinated response to climate impacts.

People and communities

Continue educating our community on climate resilience and emissions reduction

Places and nature

Protect and improve our natural places and spaces, enhance livability and biodiversity, and support community wellbeing.

Net zero operations and circular economy

Continue to reduce Council emissions through efficient operations that avoid andminimisewaste and promote reuse and repair.

Resilient assts and services

Design and manage Council assets so they are more resilient to extreme weather events and a changing climate.
