Residents are encouraged to get active, enjoy fresh air and connect with their community this April with our wide range of outdoor fitness and wellness programs.
Activities are designed to be inclusive, affordable and suitable for a range of ages, abilities and fitness levels. Activities include Fit Circuit, Yoga in the Park, Seniors Circuit, Walking Groups, running programs, nature‑based walks, plus more.
Most sessions take place outdoors, with indoor alternatives available during extreme weather.
What’s on this April?
Fit Circuit
A supportive, full‑body workout combining strength, cardio and functional movement. Sessions are suitable for all fitness levels, with options provided so participants can work at their own pace. Available at Central Reserve in Glen Waverley and Carlson Reserve in Clayton.
Yoga in the Park
Enjoy gentle yoga classes focused on mobility, balance and relaxation in a calm outdoor setting. Sessions are accessible to beginners while still offering benefits for experienced participants.
Seniors Circuit
Designed specifically for older adults, the Seniors Circuit focuses on building strength, balance, mobility and confidence through gentle, functional exercises that support everyday movement and independence.
Walking Group
A low‑impact and social way to stay active, the Walking Group offers guided walks in a supportive and inclusive environment. Walks are paced to suit a range of abilities and are free to attend.
Run Fit
For those looking to improve their running, Run Fit delivers targeted workouts, injury‑prevention strategies and expert guidance for runners of all levels, from beginners through to experienced athletes.
Biodiversity Walk
Residents can also enjoy a guided walk through Damper Creek Conservation Reserve, learn about local biodiversity while being active outdoors.
Parkrun
Jells Parkrun is a free, weekly 5km event welcoming walkers, joggers, runners, volunteers and spectators to take part in a friendly community atmosphere.
Be Active Every Day in April
April also coincides with Get Active Victoria’s 30 for 30 campaign, encouraging people to do some form of planned physical activity every day throughout the month – even if it’s just a little.
