Special Rate/Charge Scheme – Traders Associations Policy

The Special Rate/Charge Scheme – Traders Associations Policy was adopted by Council on 26 August 2026.

The policy sets out how Special Rate and Charge Schemes are established and managed within Monash activity centres. 

It supports trader associations to deliver marketing, promotional and business development initiatives that strengthen local business precincts and attract visitors. 

The policy outlines the requirements and consultation process for creating or renewing a scheme, ensuring it is transparent, fair and meets legislative requirements.

It also helps ensure businesses have a say in decision-making and benefit from shared investment in their local activity centre.
