Hazel has been leading the way in the world of sport for the visually impaired since her diagnosis with retinitis pigmentosa in 2000, recording an impressive CV of success as a competitor – state, national and international - in both ten-pin bowling and archery.
Since joining Waverley City Archers in 2014, Hazel has proven to be an outstanding administrator as well, going from committee member to vice-president to president. Along the way, she became Australia's first vision-impaired coach and, as a member of the board of Archery Victoria, organised major events like the World Archery Oceania 2023 Para Grand Prix.
