2025 Outstanding Advocate of People with Disabilities Award

Waverley Gymnastics Centre 

The Waverley Gymnastics Centre has been delivering George’s Gymnastics Program for three years, enabling 200 primary-aged children with disabilities from seven Victorian Specialist Schools to participate in a five-week inclusive gymnastics experience during school hours.  

The program directly addresses barriers to participation - such as cost, time and capacity - by offering sessions, free of charge, hosted within the school timetable and delivered in a safe, high-support environment working alongside coaches, tertiary students and school staff.
