Sustainability Leadership

Criteria

Nominations are sought for individuals, households, schools, community groups or small businesses that demonstrate leadership in contributing to a more sustainable Monash.

Achievements may include practical programs or actions, information sharing or policy/strategic outcomes that benefit the community and initiatives leading to positive behaviour change.

The assessment panel will be looking for initiatives or achievements that are inspiring or have educational outcomes.

Sustainability Leadership

How has your nominee demonstrated community involvement and leadership in sustainability.

Examples may include:

  • Creating a positive sustainable change in the community
  • Initiating a project or being proactive on environmental issues
  • Engaging with the community on sustainability issues (for example, holding workshops, stalls, meetings, showcases, working bees or open houses)
  • Sharing information about environmental issues (for example, newsletters, photos, music - using a range of media)

Sustainability Initiatives

Please describe your nominee’s key sustainability achievements.

Examples may include:

  • Reducing or avoiding waste
  • Reducing energy or water use
  • Increasing renewable energy
  • Food security and sustainable food
  • Wildlife protection
  • Protecting and looking after our local environment or bushland

 

Some activities may also support the priorities under Council’s Environmental Sustainability Strategy 2026-2030.
