We'll be undertaking street improvement works from mid-2025 along Coleman Parade, between Blackburn Road and Myrtle Street, in Glen Waverley.
Pavement reconstruction works are required due to its condition, with these works ensuring that the road can cater for the anticipated construction traffic generated by the Victorian Government's Suburban Rail Loop project.
The road reconstruction project will include the upgrade and completion of a shared path along the Waverley Rail Trail, on the north side of Coleman Parade between the Syndal and Glen Waverley railway stations.
The works are expected to start in July 2025, subject to funding and approvals, and take up to 12 months to complete.
The project has been designed and approved by Council’s Engineering and Horticulture teams. We have tried to reduce the number of trees that need to be removed by adjusting the shared path where possible. We’ll need to remove 13 trees to build the shared path, as well as one diseased nature strip tree, but we’re proposing to plant new trees along Coleman Parade and the railway corridor where possible.
