Glen Waverley Library will temporarily close from Monday 8 June.
The closure will allow us to begin construction of Council’s $110 million Glen Waverley Civic Precinct Project – set to commence later this year.
A reminder that library items should be returned before 5pm on Sunday 7 June, as the afterhours return chute will be no longer accessible.
But don’t worry if you can’t make it, just hold on to your items and return to another branch, or to one of our new temporary sites (once open) – you won’t be penalised.
To ensure we continue to deliver essential library services for the community during the construction of our new Glen Waverley Library, we will open two new temporary sites in July:
Glen Waverley Library Express (173 Coleman Parade, Glen Waverley)
A reduced adult collection with express-style services for use of public computers, printers and scanners.
Events, programs and storytimes have been relocated to nearby branches, with updates found at the library Events page or via Monash Library app.
Glen Waverley Children’s Library (Black Flat Community Hall, 685 Waverley Road, Glen Waverley)
A dedicated space for the children’s collection with regular storytime and babytime sessions.
There are no public computers, printers, or scanners available at this site.
We know temporarily relocating our library services will cause some disruption, and we thank our community for their patience.
It is an exciting time as we work together to deliver a bigger, better Glen Waverley Library.
