Eastern Climate Action Melbourne (ECAM) is a community group of like-minded people passionate about restoring our world to good health where the most dangerous impacts of climate change have been avoided.
We practice “think global, act local” that is, we focus on actions we can take for ourselves in our community – in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne including Monash.
We seek to increase community awareness of what each of us can do in our own homes. Improving a home's thermal efficiency (eg draughtproofing and insulation) and electrifying appliances (eg heating with reverse cycle air conditioner) reduces the energy bill and helps to tackle climate change. We also advocate for strong government action to reduce carbon emissions and create a safe climate now.
