If you find a needle or syringe
- Do not panic.
- Do not touch the sharp point with your fingers or hands. Do not break it.
- Either contact us to pick it up or take it to a disposal unit (as listed above). You can get a syringe disposal container from us.
- If you cannot do that, find a container with a well-secured lid. Rigid plastic containers are the best. Avoid using glass or aluminium cans.
- Use tongs to pick up needles or syringes, otherwise, pick them up by the barrel, then put needle in first into the container.
- Do not put the cap on it if it has fallen off.
- Make sure the container is tightly sealed.
